Volunteering for the Holidays

It’s the Holidays and thankfully there are caring people that want to reach out and touch other people less fortunate then themselves. However, it should be advised that it is a bit harder than you think. Why? You might ask. It is wonderful that there are so many people who want to volunteer during the holidays especially with soup kitchens, however these are booked in advance and then that leaves you disappointed. So what can you do…A good idea is to work sooner in the year for them so that you are familiar with the process. However there is a place you can volunteer and help your community at the same time.

We are a non-profit organization that helps the community by getting men and women back to work. We are at 7280 Irving Street, Suite C Westminster, CO 80030. You wouldn't believe how much help we need all year long.

It is wonderful that you are thinking of other people during the holidays but don’t forget about your family members. You know like that crazy Uncle Dick or Aunt Agnes that ruins everything by complaining. Give them some Grace, instead. Practice saying “I find no fault in you. Jesus loves you and I love you. Wouldn't that be a gift?

On a lighter note we have come up with our favorite ideas of reaching out to your community...

  • Teach your children about community by example of helping the elderly or sick and shovel their walkways or even just check in on them to make sure they are OK.
  • Decorate a Christmas tree that is seen by the neighborhood.
  • Have your family offer to wrap presents for people you know that are too busy.
  • Go to the Dollar Store and load up some Christmas Stockings and keep them in your car so you can hand them out randomly to your postman or the person who is just stressed out with the holidays.
  • Go to a homeless shelter and share your hobbies with them,..ask about theirs or even start a game night.
If you did not know by now we are nonprofit so if you are looking for a charity to donate to please do not forget about us. We are fighting poverty because it gives the right back to the people to be employed. We can and will help you to be the best employee to get your life going in the right direction. All donations are tax-deductible and we will send you a receipt immediately. Go to www.careplacementservice.net and press the donate button.

Just remember to love your family and your neighbors and even the less fortunate and you will have a wonderful Holiday Season.

Signing off…Debbie from Care Placement Service
